Kathy Kamath received a BA in music from UCSB and has been singing professionally in the Santa Barbara area for over 20 years. Matt Barnett is an accomplished singer and guitarist and has played at multiple venues throughout Hawaii and Santa Barbara (I won't embarrass him by saying how long). The Genuine Article musical duo was formed in 2022 out of a mutual love of music featuring soulful vocal harmony. Through our intricate vocal and guitar arrangements, we strive to produce a musical experience that inspires people to sing, dance and connect with each other.
Our repertoire includes an eclectic mix of over 250 folk and classic rock, pop, RnB and speakeasy tunes from the last seven decades ranging from Joni Mitchell, CSNY and Fleetwood Mac to Pearl Jam, Incubus and STP to Dave Mathews, The Cranberries, Adele and much more. We tailor our shows to the venues we play and the age and tastes of the audience and are constantly adding to our repertoire. We also write and perform original work.
